§ 36. Vacancies.

  • Should a vacancy occur in the city commission, it may be filled by appointment upon a majority vote of the city commission until a successor is qualified and elected at the next regular general municipal election, at which election the successor shall be elected to fill the remainder of the unexpired term or the vacancy may be filled by a special election to fill the remainder of the unexpired term. Provided no person shall be appointed to fill a vacancy occasioned by his recall as provided in section 39.
