§ 37. Conduct of candidates for elective office.

  • No candidate shall promise any money, office, employment or other thing of value, to secure his or her election, or give anything of value to individual voters for the purpose of securing their votes. A violation of any of these provisions shall disqualify such candidate from holding the office, if elected, and the person receiving the next highest number of votes, observing the foregoing conditions, shall be entitled to the office.
