§ 35. Elections; commission judge of own qualifications; rules of procedure.

  • Except as provided by this Charter, the city commission shall by ordinance provide for the calling of all general and special city elections and shall be the judges of the qualifications, elections and return of its own members and the mayor. Within three days after any election, the city commission shall meet to receive, canvass and declare the results thereof. Upon the official announcement of the result of such canvass, the newly elected commissioners and mayor shall take the oath of office as prescribed by state law and thereupon assume office and the performance of their duties.
