§ 58-31. Permit.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to connect into any water line or sewer line of the water and sewer system without having obtained a permit for such purpose from the city clerk, and every such connection shall be made only under the direction and supervision of the city officer or employee designated by resolution of the city council as the city plumbing inspector. Any property owner, person and/or plumber who shall make any such connection without such a permit shall also, upon conviction, be subject to the penalties provided in section 58-3. The city shall install water or sewer lines to the property line of the lot or parcel of land to be connected to the system. It shall be unlawful for any person to construct his own line to serve additional separate residences or apartments through a single meter.
