§ 79. Establish quarantine and health regulations; city health officer to enforce the same.

The city commission shall have the power to pass all such ordinances as may be necessary to establish quarantine and health regulations for the city, not inconsistent with the rules and regulations of the state board of health, and enforce the same by penalties; to arrange and provide for a city health officer. The city health officer shall have the general supervision of the public health of the city and shall have the power to make, promulgate and enforce such rules and regulations as may be necessary for the preservation of the same not inconsistent with this charter or in violation of any of the ordinances of the city.
