§ 13. Authority to require bond.

  • The city commission shall have authority to require any officer or employee to give bond with good and sufficient surety in such amount or amounts as may from time to time be fixed by ordinance. The form of such bond shall, together with the sufficiency of the surety, be approved by the city commission and conditioned for the faithful performance of the respective duties of such officer, employee or appointee, and for the proper accounting and prompt payment over to the city, or the person lawfully entitled thereto, of any and all money received by such person in the performance of his or her duties.

    Each bond shall further be conditioned to save the city and any person harmless from any and all damages, claims or liability which may occur as a result of any act of such officer, employee or appointee done in the scope of his or her employment or office.
